President Kagame warns against fabricated achievements

During the FPR Inkotanyi Political Bureau meeting held at Intare Arena in Rusororo, Gasabo District, on July 17, 2026, President Paul Kagame delivered a strong message against leaders who attempt to fabricate achievements. He emphasized that the true measure of progress lies in what citizens see and experience in their daily lives.

Kagame reminded participants that the essence of FPR Inkotanyi is rooted in history, which defines responsibilities for every Rwandan and clarifies the nation’s aspirations.

He stressed that Rwanda’s journey where it comes from, where it is, and where it is going must be evident through the lens of citizens’ realities.

He warned that fabricated achievements cannot stand when citizens themselves do not experience them.

“If children are not in school, they are not in school. You cannot fabricate that and claim success. If people lack healthcare, you cannot say they have it when they don’t. That becomes a case you must answer for,” Kagame said.

The President urged leaders to self‑examine honestly, warning that false assessments carry consequences. He likened dishonesty in evaluation to misdiagnosing an illness: if one ignores the truth, the disease eventually kills.

“Whoever examines themselves wrongly or lies will face the consequences. If you misdiagnose an illness, it will kill you because you failed to treat it,” he added.

The Political Bureau meeting brought together senior FPR Inkotanyi leaders and invited guests, including foreign diplomats accredited to Rwanda. The session served as a reminder of the party’s responsibility to uphold transparency, accountability, and citizen‑centered governance.
