RDF graduates new cohort of soldiers after six-month training

The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) has gained a new cohort of young men and women who successfully completed six months of basic military training at the Nasho Military Training Center in Kirehe District.

At the graduation ceremony on July 30, 2026, presided over by Chief of Defence Staff General MK Mubarakh, recruits showcased their skills in weapon handling, target shooting, and tactical drills, demonstrating readiness to serve and protect the nation.

General Mubarakh reminded them that this training marks only the beginning of their military journey. He emphasized discipline, unity, and adherence to RDF values, urging them to avoid laziness, division, hate speech, alcoholism, and misconduct. He also highlighted the importance of continuous learning, professionalism, and contributing to Rwanda’s security and development.

The ceremony was attended by RDF generals, senior and junior officers, and other military personnel. General Mubarakh praised the dedication of instructors at Nasho for preparing the recruits to play a meaningful role in safeguarding Rwanda’s sovereignty and peace.
