On July 24, 2026, First Lady Jeannette Kagame officially inaugurated the Imbuto Hub in Bugesera District, describing it not as a building, but as a home designed to nurture Rwanda’s youth with knowledge, counseling, values, and a platform for innovation.

She emphasized that the Hub, which has already been operational for three months, was created to respond to challenges faced by young people and families. It offers a holistic environment where individuals are supported through every stage of life, from childhood to adulthood and parenthood.

“Imbuto Hub is not walls, it is a home. A home that brings together services to accompany a person throughout their life,” Jeannette Kagame said.

Bugesera was chosen as the starting point because it reflects Rwanda’s new face of development, with modern infrastructure and a hopeful outlook among its residents. The vision, however, is national: ensuring that every child, regardless of birthplace, has equal opportunities.

The Hub will provide: Knowledge and skills, vocational training, innovation labs, and educational resources.

Counseling and values , guidance on decision‑making, resilience, and responsible citizenship.

Health and wellbeing, awareness on disease prevention, healthy living, and purposeful lifestyles.

Talent showcase, platforms for youth to express creativity and demonstrate abilities.

Bugesera’s Hub is the first of several. Additional centers are under construction in Kicukiro, Muhanga, Rwamagana, and Gasabo, ensuring broader access to youth empowerment services across Rwanda.
