U.S. launches new strikes on Iran’s Qeshm island after missile attacks

The United States has launched new heavy strikes on Iran, killing several people on Qeshm Island, just five days after President Donald Trump had announced a pause in attacks and claimed “positive talks” were underway.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted multiple IRGC facilities, including command centers, missile and drone storage sites, and naval infrastructure. The U.S. military described the operation as retaliation for Iran’s missile attack on American forces stationed in Jordan.

Hours before the strikes, Trump had warned of “very strong action” against Iran. Shortly afterward, Jordan and Kuwait reported being hit by Iranian missiles, underscoring the widening scope of the confrontation.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responded through state media, vowing continued retaliation: “As long as America keeps attacking us, we will strike back without hesitation.”

The escalation comes after Washington briefly halted operations last week following more than two weeks of continuous bombardments. Analysts warn that the renewed cycle of attacks could further destabilize the Middle East, with regional states already caught in the crossfire.
