On Monday, June 1, Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) hosted the newly appointed Sector Commander for the North-East, Brig Gen Hamad Mostafa Ahmed Adel Mansour, at their headquarters in Bria. He was officially welcomed by the Commander of Rwanda Battle Group, Lt Col David Ngabonziza.

During the visit, Brig Gen Mansour was briefed on the current security situation in the region and the ongoing military operations aimed at protecting civilians. The Rwandan contingent highlighted their role in stabilizing the area and ensuring the safety of communities under their responsibility.

Drawing from his prior experience in UN peacekeeping missions, where he had previously worked alongside Rwandan forces, Brig Gen Mansour praised their discipline and professionalism. He encouraged them to continue upholding these values as they carry out their mandate to safeguard civilians and support peace efforts in the Central African Republic.

This event reflects Rwanda’s continued commitment to international peacekeeping and the recognition of its troops as reliable partners in complex missions. It also underscores the importance of collaboration between different national contingents within MINUSCA to strengthen stability in conflict-affected regions.
